This part of the golf course is played on Bain’s Hill, which lends its name to the hole. The fairway slopes from right to left, so to achieve the best angle of approach to the green, the tee shot will have to flirt with the fairway bunkers on the right. The approach shot should favour the left half of the green as it slopes from left to right. This is a particularly hard green to hit and approach shots landing on the right side are not guaranteed to stop on the putting surface.
