Getting to Turnberry
By air
There are two international airports within an hour’s drive of Turnberry: Glasgow Airport and Glasgow Prestwick Airport. Glasgow Airport is the busiest of Scotland’s three main international airports, with over 40 airlines serving approximately 80 destinations. Glasgow Prestwick Airport offers flights to and from over 25 European cities. A third international hub, Edinburgh Airport, offers connections to over 100 destinations and is less than two hours’ drive away. Turnberry has a private helicopter landing pad as well, for those who prefer that mode of transportation.

By rail
Ayr railway station is just 20 minutes from Turnberry; alternatively, Girvan and Maybole stations are 15 minutes away. Find schedule and fare information online at the trainline. Car transfers from local rail stations may be booked through Turnberry Resort.
By car
Turnberry is more accessible than ever. With recent upgrades to the M77 Turnberry, it is now only one hour’s drive from Glasgow city centre.
From Glasgow city centre

- Take the M77/A77 southbound from Glasgow signposted to Kilmarnock
- Continue on the A77 southbound through the outskirts of Ayr
- Follow the A77 southbound through Minishant, Maybole and Kirkoswald
- 2 miles after Kirkoswald, take the right-hand turn signposted to Turnberry
- After half a mile, take a right-hand turn into the hotel driveway
From the south

- Take the M6 to Carlisle (junction 44)
- At Carlisle continue northbound on the A74 (M) to junction 12
- Take the A70 westbound towards Cumnock and Ayr
- On the outskirts of Ayr, take the A77 southbound towards Girvan and Stranraer
- Continue on the A77 through Minishant, Maybole and Kirkoswald
- 2 miles after Kirkoswald, take the right-hand turn signposted to Turnberry
- After half a mile, take a right-hand turn into the hotel driveway
From Glasgow Prestwick Airport
32km/20 miles
Driving time: approximately 30 minutes
- Turn right out of the airport complex
- Join the A78 following signs for the A77 to Glasgow and Stranraer
- Take the A77 southbound signposted to Ayr and Stranraer
- Follow the A77 southbound through Minishant, Maybole and Kirkoswald
- 2 miles after Kirkoswald, take the right-hand turn signposted to Turnberry
- After half a mile, take a right-hand turn into the hotel driveway
From Glasgow Airport

- Join the M8 motorway eastbound towards Glasgow city centre and Edinburgh
- Exit the M8 at junction 24
- Follow signs for the M77/A77 towards Prestwick Airport and Kilmarnock
- Follow directions from Glasgow city centre as described above
From Edinburgh Airport
