The Arran Course
With characteristic undulating greens, tight tee shots, pot bunkers and thick, Scottish rough, the 9-hole par-31 Arran course-named for the largest island in the Firth of Clyde-is a fitting introduction to the challenge of links golf. With the same difficult elements as Ailsa and Kintyre, Arran was designed to allow the professionals of the Colin Montgomerie Links Golf Academy, an innovative training school located at Turnberry, to pass on Montgomerie's insights about course management, avoiding mental errors and executing on the links.
Against the backdrop of the timeless Turnberry Lighthouse, novices and advanced players alike can practice a full range of links techniques and shots on Arran's mix of par 3s and 4s.
